Kano residents have been told to avail themselves of the opportunity provided by military health facilities in the state to undergo regular medical examination.

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar gave this charge at the commissioning of the Eye Clinic, Dental and Physiotherapy Units of the Air Force Specialist Hospital in Kano on Thursday.

Abubakar said that the Air Force partnered with the Kano State Ministry of Health to ensure Kano residents get easy access to the newly-established health facilities.

He made a case for better military-civilian relations while stating that the establishment of the facilities was proof that he took the welfare and health of his men and the civilian population seriously.

In his response, the Kano State Commissioner for Health, Kabiru Getso, expressed the appreciation of the State Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, and the people of Kano State to the Nigeria Air Force for equipping the hospital with state-of-the-art equipment.

He said that the state government would embark on a special sensitisation programme to enlighten Kano residents on the need to patronage the facilities.

According to the Commander of the 349 Nigeria Air Force Hospital, Kano, Air Cdr Adeboye Bolojoko, the facilities provided would be adequately utilised in accordance with NAF Operational Guidelines.

The Commander appealed to the civilian population to make sure of the facilities, just as the Air Force disclosed that plans were already underway to establish similar facilities in Lagos, Kaduna and other Nigeria Air Force formations in the country.
