Reports are that Roman Abramovich has been begging his wealthy friends  to lend him $1million each to keep him afloat.

According to TheSun, the Chelsea owner is allegedly desperately asking friends for loans to pay his $750,000-a-week staff payroll.

This is said to include the staff manning his luxury superyachts, as well as the several mansions he owns.

If you recall, Abramovich has been sanctioned by the UK government which alleges he is a Putin crony, and he has since then had his assets frozen by authorities.

After seeing his assets frozen by the UK government, Roman Abramovich has been left in rather a difficult spot and is believed to be turning to his wealthy friends in the hope of securing urgent loans.

According to TheMirror, reports are that Abramovich has approached Brett Ratner, who has directed some Hollywood blockbusters like Rush Hour and X-Men: The Last Stand, and friends from Wall Street and the tech world, and it is also suggested that he has approached the Rothschild family (arguably the most famous European banking dynasty in modern history).

However, reports are that nobody has agreed to loaning Abramovich any money, with the various sanctions he is facing from different governments across the globe.

It is obvious his “pals” are fearful of what the repercussions would be for them if they were found to be lending the Russian funds.

Following the reports, Abramovich’s spokesperson has now come out to deny the allegations. He said there was no truth to the report, and insisted they had not been approached for comment.

The spokesperson told radio station City A.M that Abramovich had ‘not spoken with, nor asked for funds from these individuals’.
