Chelsea set to bring Lampard on a three-year deal

Following the exit of Maurizio Sarri to Juventus last week, Chelsea is ready to begin talks with Frank Lampard on the club’s managerial role.

The Blues’ leading all-time scorer has only one season of managerial experience under his belt, coming at Derby County last season, but The Sun claims that Chelsea are serious about putting him in charge.

But Roman Abramovich, the club owner is rumoured to have invited Lampard to join him on his £380m yacht off Saint-Tropez, near where he is currently holidaying.

He will be offering a three-year contract to Derby County manager Frank Lampard later this week.

Chelsea is in a keen race against Derby to secure Lampard’s interest, as the East Midlands are still much interested in having the 40-year-old in charge.
