Chelsea Striker’s Response To Allegations Of Being Gay

Chelsea forward, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has denied allegations that he is gay.

The 22-year-old dispelled the rumour in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday evening.

He tweeted: “Any player who came out as gay, they’d have my full support and respect. But the rumour isn’t true.”

Rumours on social media had it that Loftus-Cheek had already come out to his Chelsea team-mates and was about to come out as the English Premier League’s first openly-gay player.

According to The Sun UK, former USA international Robbie Rogers come out as gay weeks after being released by Leeds, while Premier League legend Thomas Hitzlsperger disclosed his sexuality after retiring.
