Chief Bisi Akande Mourns As Wife Dies At 73

A former Governor of Osun State and an All Progressive Congress, APC, Chieftain, Chief Bisi Akande has lost his wife of over 50 years.

The chieftain lost his wife, 73, on Tuesday.

Chief Bisi Akande’s wife, Omowumi was reported to have died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan with the cause of death yet to be revealed by the family.

The couple have been together for 51 years and were blessed with several children prior to the demise of the mother in the home.

Akande in 2014 had said: “For about 48 years now that I have gotten married, I am still with my wife.”

He further added in eulogy: “In our marriage we agreed to live together no matter what the condition is. Except for when I was in the prison, we have always been together and we will always be.

“What has kept us this far is that from the beginning, we take ourselves not just as husband and wife but also as brother and sister. We do everything together; we love each other, take care of the children together and spend money together.”
