The suspension of six teachers by the Ekiti State Governor over Child Labour allegations has caused some teachers in the state pleading that the state Governor temper justice with mercy.

The teachers, while pleading for the state Governor, Ayodele Fayose to reconsider the suspension of their colleagues also made a note to thank him for offering an immediate appointment to one of their members, Mrs Ayodele Taiwo’s husband who returned the sum of N101,000 that was wrongly paid into her account by the state government.

The teachers through the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS, admitted that the use of students for private labour was against the Civil Service Rule and the Ekiti State Child Rights Act of 2013.

In a statement released by ASUSS Chairman, Com. Sola Adigun, the teachers pleaded that the suspension of their colleagues should be held as a nothing more than a warning to wade off all possible occurrence of such sordid scenario.
