Civil Defense Cops Seize Adulterated Diesel Truck, Arrest Three

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has announced that its Ondo State Command on Thursday impounded a truck laden with 33,000 litres of adulterated diesel, two cars carrying about 4,000 litres of adulterated diesel together with three suspects.

The cars, adulterated fuel and suspects were arrested during a routine patrol in the state. the names of the suspects were given as Bashiru Koko, Mohammed Danliti and Useni Mohammed.

The Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr Kayode Balogun, put out a statement that the suspects were arrested with the vehicles on the Ore-Shagamu Expressway.

He gave the number plates of the truck as XB 6038 BGD, while the two cars were a Volvo numbered FF 129 AAA and a Toyoto Carina with number plate BE 399 KSF.

According to him, “The NSCDC and other security agencies have for some time been on a running battle with illegal bunkerers who operate in the creeks of the Niger-Delta and use Ondo coastal area as routes to convey their illegal products to market.”

The NSCDC State Commandant, Mr Waheed Popoola, was quoted by the statement as expressing dismay at the activities of saboteurs who were causing disruptions to oil operations through the theft of crude in the state.

He urged residents of the area to provide assistance to the agency in getting rid of such criminals, as they should not hesitate to give vital information to the security agencies so that the nation’s economy can be protected.
