CMD’s son, two others kidnapped on Lagos-Ibadan expressway regain freedom

Kayode Sule, son of the Chief Medical Director of Lafia Hospital, Apata, Ibadan, Oyo State, and two health officials kidnapped by suspected herdsmen on Tuesday have been released.

Dele Adigun and Opeyemi Abifarin, two staff of the hospital were travelling alongside Sule to Ibadan before being kidnapped on Tuesday evening at Ajebo end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

It could not be ascertained whether the N50m ransom demanded by the kidnappers was paid before they were released.

But an official of the hospital confirmed that the victims were released Friday night.

Herald Nigeria can report that Kayode, who sustained a gunshot injury on the leg, was being given medical attention.

Efforts to reach police to comment on the situation were not successful as at the time of filing this report.
