The Cable News Network (CNN) has come under fire after one of its paid political commentators called Alveda King, the niece of revered late civil rights activist, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr an Uncle Tom, on live television.

CNN, a news platform that makes no apologies over its liberal bias, has yet to comment on the incident.

The grave insult occurred during CNN Tonight with Don Lemon yesterday. Lemon who is openly gay, black and a liberal, made no attempt to caution his guests even as they slandered all the young black men and women who met with US President Donald Trump Jr at the White House during Black History month in late February.

Alveda King who turned 69 in January, is a born again Christian, an anti-abortion activist, and a staunch Trump supporter. She joined other leading African American conservatives, including senior policy analyst, Patrice Lee Onwuka, sisters Diamond and Silk, comedian Terrence K. Williams, and Blexit founder Candace Owens, to meet with President Trump for a Black History Month reception in the East Room of the White House,  on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, in Washington.

The Trump supporters’ were there to fraternize with the President over his many initiatives and policies to support the black community in America. One of the invitees, former NFL safety Jack Brewer said “Mr. President, I don’t mean to interrupt, but I’ve got to say this because it’s Black History Month: man, you the first black president.”

For instance, unemployment and poverty in black America are recorded as being the lowest in history under the Trump administration. Trump also signed a bill to provide Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) with $0.25 billion every year in perpetuity. Another major achievement his supporters thanked him for are his huge efforts in the area of Criminal Justice Reform. In addition to working on legislation that would stop lengthy sentencing for African Americans convicted of specific types of crimes, Trump also let out a lot of black people from jail early, including Alice Johnson, who had served 22 years and had another 2 decades to serve on a federal cocaine trafficking sentence.

However CNN and it’s commentator’s did not like all the appreciation that was given to President Trump by the patriots who took it upon themselves to honour his invitation during the most important month for Black History in America.

Speaking live on television with CNN host Don Lemon, Keith Boykins said, “Trump’s been president for almost four years now and he’s never made a single visit to a black community to attend a black event,” Boykin said on ‘CNN Tonight’ with Don Lemon. “How the hell do you say you’re making a serious effort to reach black people when you haven’t even gone to a black community. For God’s sake, he hasn’t even gone to the black community in Washington, D.C, he hasn’t gone to the black community in New York, in Harlem or in Brooklyn where he lived.”

“He has not made any serious effort to reach black people,” Boykin continued. “The idea that anybody would sit in a room with Donald Trump and call him the first black president after we had Barack Obama as the president of the United States. It shows just what kind of Uncle Toms were sitting in that room in the first place.”

“That’s ridiculous,” he continued. “That’s an outrage that anybody would sit in that room and say something like that. That’s a shocking, appalling, disgusting thing to say.”

Responding to the racial slur, Trump supporter, Terrence Williams said, the media is trying to attack us because they can’t control us.
