Commotion in Imo as cultists burn down police station, steal guns

Otoko, a village in the Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State was left in disarray following the attack on a police station by cultists on Monday afternoon.

The hoodlums, who sacked the few policemen on duty, set the station ablaze and escape with firearms.

Confirming the developement, a resident of the village, said the incident happened around 2:50 p.m. on Monday.

He said  “Otoko Police Station in Obowo  Local Government Area of  Imo State is on fire. Cultists razed down the station and carted away all the firearms.”

The state commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo, who quickly went to the scene of the incident,  said to ThePunch: “I’m at the scene of the incident. I’m accessing the extent of damages at the scene. I’m with the villagers. Please exercise some patience I will call you once I am through.”
