Lagos-based celebrity auto dealer, Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has proposed to Blessing CEO, the self-proclaimed relationship therapist known for her controversial takes on love and relationships.
In a video that has gone viral across social media platforms, IVD is seen kneeling to propose to Blessing CEO, who enthusiastically responded, “Yes, Yes, Yes, I will marry you, Ikechukwu Darry Ogbonna.”
The engagement has reignited public backlash, as it comes less than three years after the tragic death of IVD’s wife, Bimbo Ogbonna. Bimbo died from injuries sustained in a fire incident at their home, which followed reports of domestic violence. Her family later accused IVD of long-term abuse and emotional trauma.
Blessing CEO, who was vocal in defending IVD after Bimbo’s death, described the late Bimbo as a “violent person” and claimed she had taken her own life. She also revealed that she had served as IVD’s relationship therapist during the period.
In March 2023, Blessing CEO was remanded by the Lagos State Federal High Court over her alleged involvement in the case between IVD and the late Bimbo Ogbonna.
Their engagement has sparked renewed criticism online, with many accusing both IVD and Blessing CEO of insensitivity and seeking attention despite the unresolved controversy surrounding Bimbo’s death.
Blessing CEO has since shared the proposal clip on her Instagram page, where she boasts over one million followers, captioning the post with: “YES YES YES… Was I even shocked?”
As reactions continue to pour in, the couple has yet to make an official statement regarding the public’s concerns.
