A 90 yr old Belgian woman has died after sacrificing her ventilator for younger victims of the Coronavirus pandemic.

As Europe battles to contain the spread of the Coronavirus, a shortage of medical equipment has hit hospitals on the Continent.

This has resulted in some countries going to extreme measures to choose who to save.

Some hospitals in Spain and Italy often choose to save younger victims of the virus while the UK lays more emphasis on its free older citizens.

This 90 yr old woman however made the decision to sacrifice her own life to save younger generations suffering from the Coronavirus.

She however rejected the ventilator offered to her even though she was having breathing problems and already had pneumonia before the Coronavirus pandemic.

She told the doctors to save the ventilator for younger patients instead.

I don’t want to use artificial respiration. Save it for younger patients. I already had a good life,”

Suzanne said to her caregivers.

She died two days after she was brought to the hospital, on March 22.

Her daughter, Judith told the newspaper that her mother took the lockdown very seriously and was living alone before she was admitted to hospital.
