The FCT minister has approved a daily hazard fee for coronavirus frontline health workers in Abuja.
Doctors who care for coronavirus patients are expected to receive N50,000 per day while nurses, lab scientists and pharmacists will get a hazard fee of N30,000 per day while ward heads, cleaners and drivers who handle Coronavirus patients will get a hazard fee of N20,000 on a daily basis.
The announcement was made after doctors cried out that they are putting their lives on the line only to get 5,000 Naira hazard fees.
However, the new payment does not apply to all doctors, a few doctors stated that the N50,000 only applies to those in the frontline fight against Coronavirus while the rest of them receive N5,000 on a monthly basis, not daily.
