Coronavirus: Kaduna Discharges Three Patients, El-Rufai Still Positive

Kaduna State Government has announced that three coronavirus patients have been discharged on Friday, April 17.

 

The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Amina Mohammed, who disclosed this in a statement said that the three patients, out of the total six cases confirmed in Kaduna state, tested negative twice consecutively.

 

The Commissioner said:

“This brings to four the number of persons Kaduna State has discharged this week.

 

“There are now only two cases of Covid-19 that are yet to be discharged and we look forward to being able to do soon. ”

 

 

“I wish to acknowledge the sterling efforts of the medical team, surveillance teams, members of the Emergency Operations Committee and other stakeholders involved in the efforts of the Ministry of Health to manage and contain Covid-19”.

Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna State, cleared the air regarding speculations about his coronavirus status, by announcing that he is still positive for coronavirus.

 

El-Rufai disclosed this on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday, shortly after chairing the Kaduna State Executive Council meeting.

He said;

 

“Earlier Wednesday 10am-2pm, I took a few hours during isolation to chair a virtual meeting of the State Executive Council.

 

“I haven’t been cleared of COVID-19 yet and (I) will personally announce when confirmed negative. Ignore all fake news even if you like it.”
