Coronavirus: Nigeria hits 46 as 2 new cases are confirmed

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed two new cases of coronavirus in the country.

NCDC disclosed this in a tweet on Tuesday morning.

According to the agency, the cases were recorded in Lagos and Osun States.

This brings recorded cases of coronavirus to 46 in the country, the agency said.

“Two new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 1 in Lagos and 1 in Osun

“Both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last 7 days

“As at 07:00 am 25th March, there are 46 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria.

“2 have been discharged with 1 death,” NCDC tweeted.

Giving a breakdown of coronavirus infection by states, the agency disclosed that Lagos has 30, Federal Capital Territory has eight, Ogun has three and Ekiti has one.

Also, it said Oyo has one, Edo has one, Bauchi has one and Osun has one.

Globally, 19,101 people have died so far from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as of March 25, 2020, 10:06 GMT.

There are currently 428,220 confirmed cases in 194 countries and territories.
