Coronavirus: Suspected Case in Enugu tests Negative

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has announced that the suspected case of Coronavirus in Enugu has been confirmed negative.

There had been reports of a suspected case of Coronavirus in isolation in Enugu.

The suspected case had been that of a 72 year old woman who had just returned from the United States.

The woman reported symptoms of the disease and was subsequently isolated and a test carried out.

The NCDC however announced that the laboratory result of the Coronavirus test came back negative.

This was announced via the Twitter handle of the NCDC @NCDCgov.

The organisation in charge of infectious disease in Nigeria advised Nigerians to wait for confirmation from the NCDC before spreading information on social media.

They further assured that the organisation will continue to give accurate updates to the public.

As the virus rages on in Europe and the United States, Nigeria has no new cases of the Coronavirus infection at the time of this publication.

The index case is already getting better and will be discharged soon according to the Lagos State Ministry of Health.
