CORONAVIRUS: Suspected Case In Lagos Tests Negative

Earlier on, the Lagos State Government had begun investigation into a suspected case of Coronavirus in the State, as the suspect had been isolated.

A tweet by the Lagos State Ministry of Health on its Twitter handle on Wednesday night said the attention of the Lagos State Ministry of Health was drawn to news making the round about a “suspected case of #COVIDー19 @Reddington Lagos.”

The Government had said: “We are currently investigating. Patient Isolated at Mainland Hospital. Blood samples taken for investigation and we await result,

“We would like to reassure Lagosians that our vigilance levels are high and we are putting more measures in place to safe guard our State,”

However, BBC PIDGIN has given an update on the patient. According to the test results, the patient tested negative for the deadly virus.

The Commissioner of Health, Professor Akin Abayomi confirmed that preliminary results show no sign of the virus.

Abayomi urged people not to post any story which has not been confirmed to stop unnecessary tension from building up in the community.

He assured Lagosians that no case of the deadly virus has been reported for now.
