The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disclosed why President Muhammadu Buhari should address Nigerians over the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The PDP advised President Buhari to brief Nigerians on the situation of things in the country, making citizens aware of the precautionary measures put in place to avoid more spread of the virus.

The PDP in a statement on Friday, March 20, through its spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, alleged that Buhari’s administration has committed gross misconduct by allowing aides of the president to insult the Senate.

The opposition party disclosed this while supporting the Senate that earlier urged the president to address Nigerians and allay fears of citizens amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

In response to Nigerians’ incessant demand for President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation on the issue of novel coronavirus outbreak, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has said that the president will address the nation when it is appropriate.

The minister, who addressed newsmen stated that Buhari has no new information about coronavirus that Nigerians are not already aware of.

He said: “When it is appropriate, the president will address the nation. But, I think what you want to hear from Mr President are the kind of things we are telling you. This is not to preempt or second guess Mr. President, I think he will do the needful.”
