The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai on Saturday says he faced stiff opposition from corrupt persons during his time as minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

El-Rufai, said this at the book launch of an autobiography in memory of his late foster father, Yahaya Hamza, which held in Kaduna.

The governor, in his speech titled, ‘Tribute to a father, protector and teacher,’ said the teachings he learnt from Hamza were what he used when he was FCT minister.

“To this day, I consider all of his biological children my own dear siblings. He taught us the true meaning of love. I carried on what I had learnt to my years of serving the nation as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

“When I became the minister, I was determined to change the status quo and modus operandi of our public service institutions. Of course, my vision for revolutionising the way public service was run was met with stiff opposition from corrupt influences,” he said.
