Christian de Berdouaré and his wife has found a secret safe belonging to Late Columbian Drug Lord, Pablo Escobar in his former Maimi mansion.

This is the second of such discovery on the grounds of the property – a handyman located a marble encased vault under a staircase in the home.

However, the safe disappeared before anyone could get a peep inside. The safe weighing 600 kg was found during demolition work at the 33,000 square-foot property on North Bay Road, Florida, for which the once Forbes-listed narcotics billionaire reportedly paid $760,000 in 1980.

The safe will be analyzed by a security expert to see what items are locked away inside. Berdouaré claims the history of the house was unknown to them before they purchased the mansion but as soon as they acquired it, they decided to document its demolition to discover the treasures.

Stories of Escobar’s criminal exploits continue to intrigue, as demonstrated by the popularity of the recent Netflix series ‘Narcos’, and some of his secrets are still being unearthed at his former hideaways. The former drug lord was listed as one of the richest people in the world when he was alive.

He was known for burying cash and keeping safes full of cash in all his properties.
