Money laundering: Court grants Atiku’s son-in-law, Babalele N20m bail

A federal high court sitting in Lagos has granted Abdullahi Babalele, son-in-law of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, bail of N20 million.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on Thursday him over money laundering charges.

EFCC had Babalele allegedly laundering $140,000 in the build-up to the general election.

Uyiekpen Osagie-Giwa, Atiku’s lawyer, was also arraigned for allegedly laundering $2 million in connection with the elections.
