Two houses belonging to the former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, would be handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to allegedly “proceeds of unlawful activities.”
A federal high court sitting in Lagos state on Monday, October 21, ordered the forfeiture of the houses situated in Ikoyi area of the state to the EFCC.
It was learnt that Nnaemeka Omewa, a counsel to the commission, had approached the court, seeking an order of interim forfeiture of the properties located at 17A McDonald Road, Ikoyi, Eti Osa local government area of Lagos.

Part of the EFCC’s prayers included the following: “An order of this honourable court forfeiting to the Federal Government of Nigeria landed property with appurtenances situate, lying and known as N0. 17A McDonald Road, Ikoyi, Eti Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State found and recovered from the respondent which property is reasonably suspected to have been acquired with proceeds of unlawful activity”.
Meanwhile, The Herald reported that Kwara State House of Assembly had started moves to recover a four-bedroom chalet reportedly given to Bukola Saraki, former senate president.
The lawmakers directed the committee on land, housing and urban development to investigate the transfer and report back in two days. Named Alimi lodge, the building is located on Alimi road in GRA, llorin, the state capital.
The issue came up under matters of urgent public importance by Omotayo Awodiji, assembly member representing lrepodun constituency.
