A Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti on Monday remanded one Sunday Oluwasina, 46, in prison custody over alleged N500,000 fraud.

Justice Uche Agomoh ordered that the defendant, who was not represented by a lawyer at his arraignment, should be kept in the prison custody till the next adjournment date Oct. 24.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this followed a claim by Mr Femi Falade, the police prosecution counsel, that the former had earlier jumped administrative bail given to him by the police.

The judge subsequently adjourned the case until Oct. 24, for continuation of hearing.
Earlier, Falade told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 8 at Ado-Ekiti.

He said that the defendant on the said date allegedly obtained the sum of N500,000 from one Mr. Ajiboye Abiodun by false pretext.

Falade said he had three witnesses to call to give evidence in the case.

The prosecution counsel said that the offence committed contravened section 1(3) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and other Related Offences Act, 2006
