Court remands singer Ice Prince in Ikoyi prison

Nigerian rapper, Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince Zamani, has been remanded in Ikoyi prison.

Premium Times quoted Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin as making the disclosure on Friday evening.

Hundeyin said that the police arraigned the accused before a Magistrate Court in Ajah on a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstruction and abduction.

He said that the court granted the rapper bail in the sum of “N500,000 with two responsible sureties.”

According to the police imagemaker, Ice Prince is in prison custody pending when the bail conditions will be met.

The magistrate adjourned the case until September 7.

Arrest

Recall that the police spokesman earlier on Friday confirmed the rapper’s arrest, and posted a photo of the suspect in handcuffs.

He said that Ice Prince was stopped at 3:00 am today for driving without license plates.

Hundeyin further explained that the musician agreed to be taken to the station.

He said that the rapper thereafter abducted an officer and assaulting him in his car.

He added that the musician also threatened to throw the officer into the river.

The police imagemaker said the suspect had been arrested and would be arraigned in court.
