Popular American show, E! News has been cancelled after 29 years on air due to the economic impact caused by COVID-19.

A representative for the network confirmed to EW that the show was cancelled along with “Pop of the Morning” and Jason Kennedy’s interview show “In the Room” due to the financial fallout caused by the pandemic.

The restructuring happening at NBC Universal is in line with their announced plans at the end of June to “focus on streaming and away from traditional television.”

On Tuesday, the company announced that it is planning on cutting its staff in response to the economic hardship brought on by the pandemic.

Lilliana Vazquez, one of the hosts on the show confirmed the news via a post on her Instagram page.

She wrote: “Thankful for this incredible adventure and I will miss this team and crew beyond belief, Yes…even the 4am call time.”
