A fully loaded Air Peace flight aborted landing at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri yesterday because the runway was invaded by cows.
The panic-stricken passengers had initially thought the pilot aborted landing without realising the tragedy that was averted.
According to reports, a major airport runway, Port Harcourt International Airport, had been invaded in the past by cows and an approaching Air France plane collided with some of the cows.
The expertise of the pilot had helped to avert a tragic incident despite the passengers suffered shock.
