Cristiano Ronaldo Breaks Silence on Why he Really Left Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has left Real Madrid and following the recent sacking of Julen Lopetegui, it’s clear that the Los Blancos miss him.

The Portuguese star revealed that the reason he left was because he no longer felt valued at the club and that perhaps they had started to take what he brought to the table for granted.

He granted an interview to France Football and in it he discussed his strained relationship with Madrid head honcho, Florentino Perez.

“I felt within the club, especially from the president, that I was no longer considered in the same way as I was at the beginning,”

“For the first four or five years, I felt like Cristiano Ronaldo. Less so after.

“The president looked at me in a way that suggested I was no longer indispensable if you know what I mean. That is what made me think about leaving.”

Ronaldo left after Madrid triumphed in the Champions League for the third straight season and he was out the door after popular coach Zinedine Zidane,

The Portuguese superstar, however, says that his decision to leave was not based on the Frenchman

“My decision to leave was not based on him going,” he added. “That said, it was one of the little details that confirmed to me what I had been thinking about the situation at the club.”
