Cult groups battle each other in Lagos, hack four persons to death

Cultists in Oworonshoki, a Lagos suburb, on Wednesday resumed supremacy battle, hacking four persons to death, while three others sustained injuries.

Herald Nigeria learnt that the fight, which was between Aiye and Eiye cults, started around 6:30am at L&K bus stop and later spread to Olopomeji and Akinjuomo streets.

The cultists were all wielding cutlasses, axes and bottles, which they used to attack one another.

Those murdered include Ibrahim alias Iso, Mumuni Abade and Dodo, all cultists belonging to the Aiye cult.

The clash has sent residents into a frenzy with many traders locking up their shops to escape being caught in the attack.

Police spokesman Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), confirming the incident, said a suspect, Yusuf Adesafe, has been arrested,.
