Ours is a Bequeathed Victory!

Memorize: For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. – (1 Timothy 2:2)

Read: 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 (KJV)

1. I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2. For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4. Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Message

The battle of life has proven to be difficult to every generation for various reasons. The enemies are often difficult to identify and sometimes come in the form of human opposition, criticism and antagonism.

At other times they come as physical challenges and obstacles. At times they present themselves as natural happenings that would fade away with time, so we do nothing until they become serious problems.

However, we must note that there is a spiritual dimension to every battle of life. According to Ephesians 6:12:

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Though the credentials of our enemy may be intimidating, still, a Christian enters the battle of life from a position of victory.

This is the high standpoint of the Christian faith and the only ground on which we should meet the devil and his agents.

To bequeath is to hand down or transfer to a beneficiary. Our victory has already been handed down to us! Glory! Revelation 12:11 says

“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…”

Our weapons of warfare are clearly greater than those of our wicked foes. The blood of Jesus has secured our victory and our sword of the spirit is the word of God.

We do not confront and overcome the devil and his agents by our ability but by the blood of Jesus. This makes it absolutely necessary that we live as victors in this world while we return all glory to God for our victory.

The battle is not ours but the Lord’s. Jesus is the seed of the woman, our Captain and the Lord of hosts.

We more than conquerors through Him that loved and shed His precious blood for us. Let us praise and worship the Almighty God who has granted us victory through blood of Jesus.

Prayer Point

FATHER, thank You for this wonderful day and grace of life in Jesus name

Father, help me maximise Your victory over the devil in my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.

FATHER, under no circumstance do not let me replace Your existence in my life with any man made god

HOLY SPIRIT, always be my guide even where I least expect, guide me beyond human understanding

Daily Personal Confession: I am a conqueror, the great physician is at work in me so no sickness or disease can tabernacle inside of me. His grace is forever sufficient for me. I carry in me the consuming fire therefore I am untouchable for works or workers of darkness because my temple is the lord’s. I am blessed and highly favoured glory to God. Hallelujah!
