Dansa Tomato Processing Company, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, will commence operations in February 2016 in the northern state of Kano.
Alhaji Abdulkareem Kaita, a Director in Dansa Tomato made this known during a stakeholders meeting with farmers on the new Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN) direct loan scheme to farmers held in Kano state.
Alhaji Kaita disclosed that due to a shortage of tomatoes the company decided to postpone commencement of its operation to February. According to him the plant has been ready since early 2015 but the farmers still require training and assistance to produce the product in full capacity so as to avoid possible fresh tomatoes shortages.
