Dapo Ojora: Police speak on details of Saraki in-law’s death

Contrary to speculations on social media that he shot himself to death, Lagos socialite, Dapo Ojora may have been a victim of accidental discharge, a report has claimed.

This came as the Lagos State Police Command warned against speculations on the death of the socialite.

The command disclosed this in a Saturday statement titled, ‘Dapo Ojora’s death: Police commence investigation, caution against media speculations.’

The Punch reported, quoting an unnamed police source, that some persons have been arrested in connection with the death of the victim by gunshot wound on Friday.

The victim is the son of former AGIP boss, Adekunle Ojora, and brother of Toyin Saraki, the wife of former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

According to the report, one of those arrested and detained in connection with Dapo Ojora’s death is the victim’s house help, whose name was not given.

“The Lagos State Police Command has commenced a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of one Dapo Ojora, a socialite and polo buff, who was alleged to have shot himself in the head on Friday, 11th December, 2020, in his Lagos residence.

“The Lagos State Police Command therefore urges the general public to disregard media speculations making the rounds regarding the cause of his death until the investigation instituted by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, to unravel the cause of his death is concluded and the findings made public,” the statement signed by command PRO, Muyiwa Adejobi, read in part.

The statement further disclosed that police detectives from the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, “will do the needful on the investigation.”
