The High Court of the FCT, Abuja will on Wednesday rule on bail applications for accused persons being tried in connection with the mismanagement of funds enshrouded in the contentious $2.1 billion arms procurement deal.

The accused persons: former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki; former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda; former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa; Founder of Daar Communications, Chief Raymond Dokpesi and two others, were arraigned on Tuesday before Justice Peter Affem on a 22-count charge bordering on squandering gargantuan sums of money meant for procurement of arms for the Nigerian military.

They however denied the charges when they were read to them.

Making the bail application before the court, counsel to Yuguda, Ahmed Raji, said the motions for the bail had been filed and served on the prosecution.

After seeking the permission of all the parties involved in the suit, Justice Affem adjourned ruling on the bail application until Wednesday December 16.

The judge ordered that they be kept in custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until Wednesday.
