The Ondo State chapter of the Social Democratic Party has come out to defend its National Chairman, Chief Olu Falae over the N100 million he received from the erstwhile Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Tony Anenih.

The chapter also disagreed over the position adopted by its Ogun State counterpart that it was not aware of the receipt of such money from the PDP BoT chair by Falae.

In a Wednesday statement by the Ondo State Chairman and Secretary, Chief Korede Duyile and Bayo Fajemilua, the party condemned the insinuation that the money was for Falae and not the party.

Also, it affirmed that there was nothing criminal in the relationship between the SDP and PDP’s arrangement that necessitated the payment of the money.

The party said it should not be criminalized for working with former President Goodluck Jonathan and not President Muhammadu Buhari at the last general election, saying it worked with Buhari in the past.

Furthermore, the party said the money in question was disbursed to most of the state chapters and other groups within the party to campaign for the general election.
