Dating app, Tinder has increased its range of gender options seeing as the world as evolved to become a more complex and complicated society.
Tinder in its major overhaul of what used to be a clear and distinctive Male and Female gender options has reflected the growing complexity in the society by creating 37 array of options to choose from.
The additional options now include gender fluid, androgynous, pangender, non-binary, gender questioning, transgender and transsexual.
However, users who feel confined and offended by the categories provided have the option of including their gender.
Tinder on its blog while announcing the update wrote: “We haven’t had the right tools to serve our diverse community in the past, but that changes today.”
The company on its blog continued: “In addition to this new feature, we are learning to be a better ally to transgender and gender nonconforming communities by allocating additional resources to our support team, which includes educating our staff about the challenges facing these communities.”
