Daughter of New York Mayor Arrested in Violent Manhattan Protest

Chiara de Blasio, daughter of New York Mayor, Bill de Blasio was arrested in violent protests in downtown Manhattan on Saturday.

According to the NYPD, a group she marched with threw rocks and other projectiles at police officers.

Chiara was also accused of blocking the highway and refusing to move around 10:30pm.

The police said projectiles were thrown and there was a lot of screaming before she was eventually arrested for unlawful assembly and rioting in downtown New York.

According to the police report;

“There was yelling and screaming and unknown objects were being thrown in the direction of the police.”

The report added that Chiara refused to leave the area when asked to by the police. She was thereafter arrested, given a citation and released.

About 50 NYPD vehicles were put on fire and damaged during the protest between Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. Dozens of officers were also injured by rioters.
