David Bowie: Newscaster Announces Death Of British PM, David Cameron Instead Of Legendary Singer

1 Min Read

It is no longer news that legendary British musician, David Bowie is dead. His family, who were with him as he breathed his last, announced his death, through a spokesman, on Monday. He died after an 18 month-long battle with cancer at the age of 69.

What is however news is the mistake of a British radio newscaster who announced first that “(British Prime Minister) David Cameron has died” before correcting herself in the subsequent statement, “Bowie’s death, which came after a secret 18-month battle with cancer, was announced this morning.”

The newscaster, Fiona Winchester of Heart FM Radio, made the mistake while reading the news at 8.30am on Monday.

Born David Robert Jones, the legendary music was considered one of the most influential musicians of his time.

David Bowie died in New York, United States on Sunday.
