Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has boldly declared that no one can match him when it comes to performing Afrobeats.

Speaking during a recent appearance on The Ebro Show on Apple Music, the award-winning singer acknowledged the prowess of American artists like Gunna, Young Thug, and Chris Brown in their respective genres. However, he insisted that his mastery of Afrobeats is second to none.

“I can’t sing trap better than Gunna or Young Thug, or sing R&B better than Chris Brown,” Davido admitted. “But nobody can sing Afrobeats like me.”

He explained that his musical identity is deeply rooted in Afrobeats, a sound he insists on bringing into his collaborations, even when working with international artists.

“One of the good things American artists like about working with me is that we either meet in the middle or you just do it my way — Afrobeats,” he said.

Davido also revealed that he has recorded over 20 songs with long-time collaborator Chris Brown, hinting at the possibility of joint projects in the future. “We could put out two albums right now,” he added.
