Afrobeats star Davido has surprised a Ghanaian TikToker with a $5,000 cash gift after being moved by his passionate cover of “With You,” a track from Davido’s newly released album 5ive.
The viral video, shared by TikToker @Ananzooficial, showcases an emotional performance of the Omah Lay-assisted love song. Impressed by the rendition, Davido responded in the comment section with the message: “5K US for OLS, contact #deekay-dmw,” confirming the generous reward.
The gesture has drawn widespread praise, adding to Davido’s reputation for spontaneous acts of generosity. Just days earlier, the singer gifted his wife, Chioma, a luxury Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon AMG G63 for her 30th birthday and tipped the car dealer $10,000 in cash.
Davido’s new album 5ive, released on April 18, features 17 tracks and has topped multiple streaming charts since its debut.
The singer is well known for his philanthropy. In November 2021, he donated ₦250 million to 292 orphanages across Nigeria. He followed up in July 2023 with ₦237 million donated to 424 orphanages, benefiting over 13,000 children. Most recently, in November 2024, he pledged ₦300 million to support orphanages and youth drug rehabilitation.
