Popular musician, David Adeleke aka Davido has advised Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to call Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke to congratulate him.
Davido, who is Senator Adeleke’s nephew, said this in a tweet reacting to the governor’s preliminary response to his loss in Saturday’s election.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the election.
INEC Returning Officer for the election, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe declared that Adeleke secured 403,371 votes to defeat APC’s Oyetola, who got 375,027.
As earlier reported by The Herald, Oyetola said in a Sunday statement that the APC would respond to the INEC-declared result after studying it and consulting with critical stakeholders.
But reacting to a news report on the governor’s comment, Davido said the governor should instead call his “successor to congratulate him.
