Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he and his wife, Chioma, are taking a break from expanding their family, citing a desire to give Chioma time to focus on her personal ambitions.
In a recent interview on Ride Along With Darryl, the “Omo Baba Olowo” hitmaker opened up about their decision, emphasizing the importance of rest and career fulfillment for his wife after having three children.
“I don’t want more children now,” Davido said. “Me and my wife are taking a break. She needs to get out to work. She wants to do a lot of things like opening her restaurant and launching her spices. I feel she deserves a couple of years off after having 3 kids.”
The couple welcomed a set of twins—a boy and a girl—in 2023, a year after tragically losing their first son, Ifeanyi, in a swimming pool accident.
Davido, who is currently a father of five, has been vocal in recent interviews about the evolution of his personal life and the need to prioritize family well-being alongside his global music career.
