Seyitan Babatayo, the lady who accused Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj has alleged that the popular Artiste connived with Police officers to arrest her  on June 16, 2020.

The drama began when D’banj joined other online users to condemn Rape culture. Seyitan called out the artiste on his perceived hypocrisy for condemning the same dastardly act he committed sometimes in 2018.

Seyitan accused D’banj of raping her in 2018, gaining unlawful entrance to her hotel room and harassing her  sexually behind closed doors on Twitter

Days  after the sexual allegations were made public, Seyitan deleted all tweets incriminating the artiste and promoted his latest song on her Twitter handle. This attracted suspicions  from online users who became curious why Seyi would promote the same Artiste she claimed to have raped her.

It was later discovered that police officers arrested Seyi in her apartment , coerced her to delete the tweets  and dictated words for her to post under duress.

Seyitan has released a statement detailing her horrific experience and ill-treatment she has suffered since she publicly accused Dbanj of rape.

In her statement, Seyitan disclosed she went to the Police station on June 6 to lodge a formal complaint but was dismissed. In her words she was “thwarted by an officer of the law at the said police barracks”.

However, on June 16, four Police officers who pretended to be delivery agents came to her apartment to arrest her without a warrant. They made her spend one day in detention alongside different criminals without any charge.

The following day June 17, Seyitan alleged the officers made her delete all the tweets of her sexual accusations against D’banj and “could only post on social media what had been approved by D’banj’s team”. They told her to lie it was a publicity stunt.

According to her, after she danced to the tune of their bidding, she was taken to an undisclosed location alienated from the rest of the world where she could not communicate with anyone.

Fortunately for her, her mother, lawyers and activists were able to track her location through satellite mapping.

Seyitan insisted she had no intention of getting any fortune from the accusations contrary to misconceptions made on social media.

She stated she only demanded an apology from the artiste who violated her body, thereby putting her mental well-being at risk as she has been emotionally traumatised since she suffered the abuse in 2018.
