The Delta State Government has presented a car gift to an honest man, Benson Efeotor, who works with the civil service in the state.

Benson had reportedly gotten an alert of N53 million naira from the state government in his account but since he did not know the source, he promptly approached the bank, made a complaint and transferred the money back to the account it came from.

In a bid to reward him for such a generous habit, and to urge others to emulate such, Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa,  presented Benson with a brand new car.

The governor emphasized that Benson’s act showed that he was “a man of integrity who should be emulated by other categories of workers in the state.”

Addressing newsmen after the presentation of the car, the civil servant stated that he was already used to returning other people’s properties whenever he found them in his possession.

He stated, “I returned the money because I don’t have such money in my bank account. You don’t collect what does not belong to you. I am working for my salary. If I collect the money, that’s criminal.”
