“We have some questions for him bordering on corruption,” a source said. “But we do not know yet when he would be released, we will know this by 5:00 p.m.”

Ekweremadu had been invited to the EFCC office for a chat last week.

The Senator has been dealing with allegations of corruptions in the last couple of years including the famous Senate standing rules saga in 2015 where he was accused of forging Senate standing rules.

There were also the allegations that he owned multiple properties abroad, some allegedly bought surreptitiously by shadow companies and other underhanded means.

This is a developing story and it is believed that more details will come out soon.
