Alexis Sanchez has come out to respond to allegations made by the media that he bet on Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho being sacked.

The Portuguese Champions League winner was fired from his post earlier in the week and it was no secret that he wasn’t liked by some of the players.

Paul Pogba might have been the most obvious candidate, but things didn’t seem to be going too well with Sanchez either.

From the first name on the team sheet at Arsenal, the Chilean winger found himself out of some matchday squads altogether

According to the Sun, Sanchez had messaged his team mates in the wake of the Mourinho sack and said: ‘I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k!’

The former Arsenal player has been swift in his denial, calling the story ‘fake’

“This is FALSE!!!. Jose gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him.”

“We are a truly United team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to help the team! Good luck tomorrow family!” Sanchez said in a post on Twitter

The attacker is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, but it will be interesting to see what happens on his return and how new manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will use him.
