A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chisom Promise Dike may be the most honest and people-centric politician in Nigeria.
The young lawmaker who represents Eleme, Tai and Oyigbo federal constituency rejected a gift from Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The Herald had reported that the governor presented 15 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado VX and TXL cars to members of the National Assembly from the state at Government House, Port Harcourt.
But Dike, who hails from Oyigbo local government area, rejected the gift which could have him helped him better navigate the death traps in the form of dilapidated roads in his constituency.
While rejecting the SUV gift, the lawmaker asked the governor to repair the roads instead.
He noted that the roads in his constituency have become an eyesore.
Dike further stated that the state of the roads was having a negative effect on socio-economic activities in the constituency.
He pleaded for the governor’s immediate intervention.
