NCDC: Discharge COVID-19 patients who test negative once

Nigeria’s active COVID-19 cases surpass 9,000

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed new guidelines regarding the discharge of COVID-19 patients.

Henceforth, COVID-19 patients who test negative once after treatment will be discharged.

This is unlike the usual strategy of patients testing negative at least two times to the virus before they are discharged for re-integration into the society.

Emeka Oguanuo, NCDC spokesperson who made this known in a chat with The Cable in Wednesday, May 13, also disclosed new strategies in combating the Pandemic will be published soon.

Nigeria as at 4:13pm May 13,has recorded 4,787 cases of COVID-19 out of which 959 persons have been discharged while 158 persons died.
