Disunity Bubbling Among Niger Delta Militants

It seems there is a bit of disunity among the ranks of the militant groups in the Niger Delta as two of their foremost groups have failed to agree with each other on certain points.

Earlier in the week, the Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) released a statement in which they said they had been able to procure 6 missiles which they were going to test in a few days time. They had warned that there was to be no activity in that airspace or they would shoot down the offending craft.

They had also threatened to shut down Nigeria’s communication satellite thereby making communication within the nation impossible.

The Niger Delta Avengers, on the other hand, have disassociated itself from threats to launch missiles in the region.

They have urged the JRC to stop any plans to put that idea in motion and instead focus on crippling the Nigerian Economy from within and without bloodshed.

The JRC had also threatened the life of Commissioner of Information and Orientation in Bayelsa, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite, stating that he’d be silenced if he kept criticising their activities.
