Divorce-seeking woman announces planned suicide on Facebook, police come to the rescue

The Anambra State Police Command has rescued a woman that plotted suicide over marital problems.

The victim, whose Facebook name is Ifeoma Obiora, posted two separate messages saying she was contemplating killing herself to escape her marital challenges.

She added that she had no one to talk about her problems and no one was willing to come to her aid.

“In these moments before my departure, I feel more clarity than I have ever felt in my dull life. In one minute, I will be free from the voices, from the pain, and from you.”

“Nobody listened. Nobody cared,” she wrote.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed disclosed in a Wednesday statement that the woman was rescued by Area Commander of Nnewi.

According to Mohammed, the woman was in a troubled marriage and seeking divorce.

“The Area Commander Nnewi has got her. She has a family problem and was seeking for divorce.

“Although her problem is civil in nature, but leaving her in that condition could lead to something else since she is threatening to take her life.

“The Area Commander has invited her and her husband tomorrow (Thursday) for further counseling,” the statement read in part.
