DMX Scheduled For Critical Brain Function Tests As He Remains On Life Support

Rapper, DMX is reportedly set to undergo critical brain function tests as he remains in critical condition after drug overdose.

The 50-year-old who is still on life support at the White Plains Hospital in New York will undergo the tests later today, April 7.

His manager,  Steve Rifkind confirmed the new development to TMZ, saying X is still in a coma and his condition has not materially changed. He also said that doctors will perform a battery of tests to determine the level of brain function.

According to a TMZ report, the rapper suffered a drug overdose, which triggered a heart attack, in his home on Friday night.

The report quoted some close associates of the 50-year-old as saying that he is in a “vegetative state”.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has battled substance abuse over the course of many years and has been to rehab many times.

He was last in rehab in 2019, after serving a one-year sentence for tax evasion.
