Doctor Who Donated Police Station To Community Over Kidnap Crisis, Lost Wife To Kidnappers

The medical doctor, Philip Ataga, who recently lost his wife to kidnappers donated a police station to his community over the incessant attack of kidnappers on the community members last year.

 

Unfortunately, the very tragedy the doctor was trying to tackle in his community befell his household, as his wife, Bolo Ataga who was kidnapped alongside his two children, was killed by the kidnappers.

 

A Facebook user disclosed this in a post on his page, stating that the doctor had donated the police station to his community in order to improve the security in the area after about three people were kidnapped last year.

 

He wrote;

“The commissioning had the AIG of the zone and the Kaduna State Government officials in attendance, to the delight of the community that has become plagued by constant adoption, Ogwu wrote.”

 

Bola was killed a week after she and her children were abducted in their residence at Juji, near Sabon Tasha, Chikun local government area of Kaduna.

 

According to reports, the kidnappers killed her after the family failed to meet up to the N150 million ransom demanded by them. They however asked for N20 million for the release of her children.

 

TheCable gathered from the spokesman of the Kaduna State police Command that Doctor Ataga donated the police station, which is just “barely 50 meters” from Ataga’s residence, in 2019, about the last quarter of last year.

 

He said;

“The other reason why it had to process was that, the said police station is located barely 50 meters from Dr Philips residence, where the bandit operated for 3 hours, 10 pm to 1am, unhindered, with sporadic gun shots, until, they succeeded in breaking down the walls, killing the police dogs and reaching for his family, he said.

 

“My subsequent engagement with Dr Philip reveals all the effort that were made to reach the police and military high authorities while the operations lasted.

“The bravery of the local vigilante who only bare dane guns was met with superior gun power, which sadly resulted in one of them paying the Supreme price.

 

“The public can now understand why the community protest of 25th January received major media publicity, with the locals alleging, police conspiracy.”
